Dr. Kathleen Kiernan is the Founder and CEO of national security and defense contracting firm Kiernan Group Holdings, Chair Emeritus of InfraGard National Members Alliance, and adjunct faculty member at the Johns Hopkins University and Naval Post Graduate School. Kiernan Group Holdings serves customers from the US Government, law enforcement, DoD and the Intelligence Community through the convergence and often recombination of non-traditional talent with earned experience to provide an enterprise-leader tailored approach to complex problem sets. A 29-year veteran of Federal Law Enforcement, Dr. Kiernan retired as Assistant Director for the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information for ATF. She serves as a subject matter expert for the Rapid Reaction Technology Office for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. She is formally a senior member on the IACP Terrorism Subcommittee.
Dr. Kiernan believes experience brings an obligation to foster professional development in others through mentoring and education across public and private sectors. KGH developed a preparedness model (Preparedness Without Paranoia) to educate, engage and empower the citizenry with the confidence to prepare for, respond to, and recover from active threats, which can turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary one, often with the advantage now going to the assailant. Her dedication to public service includes her support to the Boulder Crest Retreat for Wounded Warriors and her 15-year participation in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk to raise awareness and funding for breast cancer research.
Dr. Kiernan’s professional affiliations have included her role as Chair, now Chair Emeritus for the InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA), former Co-Chair for the Homeland Security Intelligence Committee for the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) and member of the AFCEA Intelligence Committee.
