Chief for Foreign Investment and Corporate Engagement | National Security Division of the Department of Justice
Sanchi Jayaram is the Chief for Foreign Investment and Corporate Engagement in the National Security Division of the Department of Justice. Ms. Jayaram manages NSD’s efforts to combat national security threats associated with information systems intrusions, economic espionage, and proliferation in the context of foreign investment programs and corporate engagement activities. Ms. Jayaram also represents the Department on multi-agency committees concerning technology, trade, and security. Ms. Jayaram joined the Department of Justice in 2016. From 2006 to 2016, Ms. Jayaram was the Director responsible for Foreign Investment Policy and Trade Policy in the Department of Homeland Security Office of Policy, where she supervised the adjudication of foreign investment filings and U.S. trade policy initiatives pertaining to Department of Homeland Security responsibilities.
Previously, Ms. Jayaram practiced law for several years in Washington, DC advising on a variety of international trade and compliance matters. She is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, School of Music, and College of Arts and Sciences.
